Jonatan García, one of today’s most promising Spanish alpinists, embarks on an ambitious project in the Pyrenees. During the course of it, he shows us his way of understanding both mountain and life.

Massimo is a professional photographer, mountain walker and recently passionate about climbing. One evening at the CAI local office, he attends the presentation of Delfino’s work. Delfino is a cliff rigger, which allows hundreds of people to climb in the Lecco area. Massimo decides to shoot a short documentary on the history of Delfino. He wants to make people understand how much work is behind the preparation of a crag for sport climbers, to spread respect and enhance the beauty of the mountain area. To do this, he avails himself of the help of Simona, editor, who structures the video. When I see the result, I am amazed by the beauty of the images and the story, which, however, is still raw and lacking in many aspects. Here was born the intention to join forces and elevate the documentary as much as possible: re-editing it with new content and interviews. Here is “Piton in the head” a story of passion for our mountain territory.

Serpil can only read the book sparing time from house work and also likes telling the parts she reads to Esma. The more Serpil tells about the book the more they are amazed about Africa together with Esma. Serpil tells Esma she learned from her teacher that the children in Africa are dying of hunger. Esma thinks the English did not tell the place of the Gold Mountain to the African natives. Even though the African childen are not aware of Serpil and Esma, the girls now know about them. Serpil and Esma think that it is their responsibility to show the African children the place of the Gold Mountain and save them from hunger. With their childish imagination and desire to help they take off very early in the morning from their village and take on an exciting adventure. This adventure of wanting to save the hungry children in Africacomes to an end when the girls feel exhausted and hungry themselves. They decide to return home and help the Africn children after groving up!

The film presents the governorate of South Sinai by showing different models from different countries. Each of these models has its own influential story. In the end, everyone gathered that Sinai is the most beautiful country in the world and that it is safer and more peaceful, contrary to what is said about it as a country of terrorism.

The short film by the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Primorska, links literature and sport. The story line of France Prešeren’s The Baptism at the Savica, which has been used as the original inspiration for the film, is merely hinted at. The text has been upgraded with the concept of the passive and active person as interpreted by the Slovenian writer Edvard Kocbek. The visual image evokes the complex personality of Prešeren’s Črtomir, a brave warrior and a gentle lover, who is defeated by history but becomes a survivor, just as the small Slovenian nation patiently waited for the historical moment when it was able to successfully assert its identity. In the short film, the body and the landscape speak to us, as well as Kocbek’s quotes, which we have intertwined with Prešeren’s and our own words. For Črtomir the triathlete, no terrain is an obstacle, and the endurance that he shows is also connected to his flexibility. No matter what the history brings, he persists. Aquileia is not his final stop. His journey continues and is determined solely by the will to transcend one’s own limits. The film is based on the idea by Barbara Jurša and stars Matija Kodarin, a student of Kinesiology at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Primorska.
